Description

My car is a late build in January 2003. 14,250 miles, original Argento Nürburgring paint, original black interior. This is not some trailer queen, but a 90 point #2 condition car you can enjoy. When I was a boy going to Watkins Glen the sound of a V12 Ferrari stayed with me forever. It was such an accomplished goal to own one. Canepa changed the middle muffler for stainless pipes and the sound is superb. Not loud, but enjoyable V12 growl. The catalytic converters are in place and the original central muffler goes with the car. The pop up headlights work flawlessly, all switches are solid, the windows work, the seats adjust, all gauges work, all lights work, directionals and 4 way, even the cigar lighter works to charge your phone. Yes the a/c blows cold. I re-charge it annually as we live in the desert. The radio is original as is the 6 disc CD carrier in the trunk. I thought of changing the radio as several exact-fit newer units are available. All books and tools including the codes for the radio and the security system. Three keys and fobs – and as a Ferrari forum subscriber, you know how much these cost.
Why the 456 GTA is not considered desirable is silly to me. Every 550 or 456 manual shift description always says “clutch replaced”. The Automatic is smooth and quick and in an urban environment is a blessing. 442hp, superb acceleration, a top speed you will never see and comfortable cruising as fast as you wish. Plus, you can go away for a weekend or a week with all the space in the trunk and back seats. Sit at a light, go to the station to fill up and folks look. Hit the pedal and walk away from nearly every car while she revs easily to 6500 and snaps to another gear.
This car has just had oil and filters service. New Continental tires 2,000 miles ago, new battery 6 months ago. Clean Carfax, clean Nevada title. 3 ring binder with a lot of service history, invoices, etc. No dents or dings. No upholstery or rug problems. The worst I can say is a CD in the radio slot that will not eject and there are some small chips in the front valance. Driving in triple figures will cause that. I turn 83 in January and sadly, it is time to see my precious V12 go to another owner. Hopefully one who will use her.

The 456M, in its GT and automatic gearbox GTA guises, is the evolution of Ferrari's highly successful interpretation of its traditional 2+2 models. First introduced in 1992, the 456 GT was the marque's first car designed with the 21st century in mind and has been much appreciated by Maranello's clients for the way it provides saloon-class comfort and roominess combined with class-leading performance.
