Description
Ferrari 308 GTSi with 40 years of FLC
After a 20+ year love affair with my Ferrari 308 I have decided it is time to sell.
This car has had Ferrari Loving Care (FLC) since I purchased it in 2001. John Tirrell of IFS in Massachusetts has meticulously maintained the car to a point that it is likely the best maintained and best driving 308 in the northeast. The car has 70,000 of mostly mountain highway miles on it. It has a Tubi exhaust system, Brembo brakes and the engine was completely rebuilt by IFS in 2005 at 41,800 miles. The car was upgraded to a dual belt system to prevent water pump problems and has thermostat fan and headlamp bypass switches. It has brand new upholstery and carpeting and looks absolutely stunning. I have all the records on the car since 1990.
The car is nimble and powerful. The Tubi system and the lack of a catalytic converter gives it a few extra horses. The car was given a thumbs up at the 2010 Canadian GP by both Michael Schumacher and Sir Jackie Stewart.
You will not find a more drivable and head turning 308GTSi anywhere.
This spider version of the 308 GTBi shared both its line and engine. The fuel injection system gave both models much smoother power delivery. Unfortunately, meeting anti-pollution regulations meant that a few horses had to go, and the cleaner engines were less powerful than the previous carburettor ones. Aware of this situation and the need to re-establish its cars at the top their class, Ferrari immediately began further development of the V8 engine with the aim of increasing power whilst still keeping exhaust emissions within acceptable levels.
